Frequently asked questions

What should I expect from my first appointment?

At your first appointment, you will be asked questions about your symptoms, lifestyle and medical history. This is followed by an examination, which involves undressing to your underwear. Depending on the individual case, you will normally be given an explanation for your symptoms, self-care advice and treatment. You will be able to discuss and ask any questions you may have.

What shall I wear?

Please wear comfortable underwear which allows easy access to your whole back.

Do you accept private healthcare?

We do not deal with private healthcare providers directly. However, you can request a refund from your insurance using the invoice provided. It is advisable to confirm with your insurance provider prior to booking an appointment that they will cover the cost. 

Do you treat pregnant patients? 

We happily treat expectant mothers in their second and third trimester. Unfortunately, we do not treat expectant mothers in their first trimester to minimise risks.

What is your privacy policy?

What is your cancellation policy?

Please refer to the individual clinic's website.

 

For Zenw2 and home visits: To help as many patients as possible, we require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If you cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment, a cancellation fee equivalent to the full appointment cost will apply.

What conditions do osteopaths treat?

​Osteopaths treat a wide variety of medical conditions, including the following: 

​

  • generalised aches and pains

  • arthritic pain

  • general, acute & chronic backache, back pain (not arising from injury or accident)

  • uncomplicated mechanical neck pain (as opposed to neck pain following injury i.e. whiplash)

  • headache arising from the neck (cervicogenic) / migraine prevention

  • frozen shoulder/ shoulder and elbow pain/ tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) arising from associated musculoskeletal conditions

  • circulatory problems

  • digestion problems

  • joint pains

  • lumbago

  • sciatica

  • muscle spasms

  • neuralgia

  • fibromyalgia

  • inability to relax

  • rheumatic pain

  • minor sports injuries and tensions
